Anxiety and Phobias

Anxiety is a normal reaction to uncertainty and to situations that may damage us or those we love. At the moment, we are living in a situation that none of us has ever faced before. The rapid progress of coronavirus through Europe and the world and the recent demands that we isolate ourselves makes of course for a very strange and stressful situation. Those who live alone may feel a degree of loneliness never experienced before. We are worrying about our own health and the health of our loved ones. Many of us are very anxious about work, our finances, our children’s education and other important parts of our lives. Those who already struggle with anxiety will feel this worsening and for many this will be a whole new experience that we have never had to deal with before.

Phobias are related to anxiety: an intense and irrational fear of something, someone, a place or situation which interferes, disrupts and restricts an individual’s life, like speaking in public, fear of flying, dentists, lifts, spiders, open spaces, people, etc. … Anyone who suffers from a phobia knows how debilitating it can be.

It’s essential to treat phobias through professional help because otherwise they are left to grow and gain in power – and when that happens, most phobic sufferers will simply avoid the situations in which they feel anxious.

Treating anxiety or phobias with hypnotherapy turns the fear and the resulting behaviour pattern on its head so your fear becomes a thing of the past. Hypnotherapy can help you to live fully and without fear.
